In 1971, Lex Hixon began broadcasting a weekly radio show entitled In the Spirit on the alternative radio station WBAI in New York City. In 1980, WBAI changed the name to Body/Mind/Spirit which aired until 1984. The recordings here were discovered in Hixon's basement. Bob Kindler, head of the Sarada Ramakrishna Vivekananda Center in Hawaii, transferred the original tapes from reel to reel to cassettes and later CDs. The files were copied onto a hard drive. They are not in chronological order, but follow the order of the hard drive files.
